The Missions branch under the leadership of the Regional Chairman Alhaj Hassanain Hasanali saw its humble beginnings with establishment of a library in the township of Tanga.

With the demand for Shiite literature the need arose of having a set up to teach the doctrines and have missionaries to reach the interior where the need was even greater, thus the establishment of Hauzatul Qaim(as) in Tanga Municipality.

Five years on, the hauza has a total of 33 students out of which 4 students are completing their fifth and final year. The students periodically get aquainted with the environment of propagation, having been sent to different parts of the country for delivering the message of Ahlul Bait (as). In particular the months of Muharram and Ramadhan. The students have opportunities to take up teaching classes in the subjects of their proficiency to junior students of the Hauza, and also actively participate in the radio station recently established in Tanga by IBN, in form of lectures and managing other broadcasts.

The students attend seminars in public speaking, article writing and teaching techniques which will enable them for effective missionary task ahead.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania projects that the outcome of the students will govern the future of propagation in Tanzania taking charge of the regions and the affairs of the communities through out the centres of the Mission.

All praise be to Allah (swt) for having completed our first term in office in the service of spreading the message of Ahlul Bait (a.s.).

The challenges have been tackled in the first term in office as per our projection in the five year plan (page 6 and 7), which was adopted in 2009.

The major challenge however remains in the vastness of the country coupled with the remoteness of the centres, above all the caliber of instructors (mubaligheen) in the Centres.

However the Mission has in the past term worked actively to formulate the systems which includes accounting, common Madrassa Syllabus regionalization for better governance and forming an inspectorate to monitor their progress. It is anticipated that the regional chairman’s will strengthen the communities at grass root level leading them to self-governance. Consolidations of our activities and some measures have been unpopular however the need to project the importance of quality versus quantity in propagation will continue.

The Mission will continue to work on the foundations laid by late Maulana Syed Akhtar Rizvi and the founding members in realizing their dream to propagate the faith of Ahlul Bait (a.s.) far and wide amongst the indigenous community.

We are grateful to our well-wishers for their moral and material support which is vital in the efforts of the Mission.

Sura e Fateha is requested for Marhum Fidahusein Hameer who recently passed away and all those who pioneered founding the mission and whose efforts have enabled us to be where we are.
