BMMT HOLDS FREE EYE CAMP AT KILOSA, MOROGORO REGION

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania organized a 4-Days Eye Camp with the invitation given from Member of Parliament Mh. Bawazir Kisa, sponsored by BETA Charitable Trust, Essex of U.K at Kilosa District, 310 kms from Dar es Salaam from 22nd to 26th April 2016.

Camp was set at Mazinyungu Primary School and the surgeries performed at Kilosa Hospital at their common surgery section.

People from various villages in the Kilosa District registered for the Free Eye treatment, and 3380 patients of various ages were screened, details are given below:

SUMMARY STATISTICS:

  • Total number of people screened:                   3380
  • Total medicine prescribed:                                2763
  • Total spectacles prescribed/given:                 2976
  • Total sunglasses made available:                       189
  • Total cataract surgeries carried out:                 168

 

Not only had the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania in this Free Eye Camp served the Kilosa public with the medical attention but also with the help of Hon. MP distributed used clothes, food ration, mosquito nets, solar lights and kitchen items to flood victims, exercise books and footballs to nearby schools.

APPRECIATION

The Bilal Muslim Mission Tanzania wishes to express profound appreciation to the BETA Charitable Trust of Essex, U.K. for sponsoring the surgeries carried out at the Camp.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to TRH and WIPAHS for their transport arrangements with expert drivers’ skills that facilitated all the Eye Camp members through the flood effected roads.

We are thankful to entire team of doctors, nurses, volunteers, regional and District Government Authorities and medical officers, the School administration and teachers, the Tanzania Police Force and all those who in one way or the other supported and facilitated the successful conduct of the Camp.

May Allah (SWT) grant them good health, long life and every success in their endeavors, Ameen.
