Wiladat & Quran Hifdh Competition at BCS
Bilal Comprehensive School, Temeke Dar es Salaam celebrated birth day anniversary of Imam Hassan (as) with the Annual Qur’an Hifdh Competition on Saturday, 4th July 2015.
The competition began at 10:00 am in the morning and was divided into two sections. The Juzzul Amma had 13 participants and the 29th Juzz had 5 participants. These were listened to and judged in the morning and then the participants went for Dhuhrayn prayers.
The program resumed after prayers and the competitions continued with other categories. 5 students participated in 5th and 10th Juzz and 4 in 20th Juzz.
Each category had at least one student from Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS).
The other participants were from various madaris/schools like Madrasat Sadiq, Madrasat Nujoom, Mustahab Madrasa, Al Muntazir Girls Primary, Daarul Hooda, Madrasat Zahra, Hawzatl Bilal, Markaz Abubakar, Wilayatul Atfal and Madressatun Noor.
This program was conducted with lots of fervor and joy, where recitation of Quran was alternated with interesting performances by Bilal Students saying poetry on the life of Imam Hasan (as) and reciting qaswidas.
The other categories were on fadhail of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s) and advice from the Holy Quran. For fadhail, a set of 20 verses were given to the competitors from which they were to highlight the connection with the Ahlul Bayt (a.s) and, reason for their revelation, lessons derived from the verses and their application in our day to day lives.
As for the advises, four classes were picked and each class was given a set of 25 verses which contained practical advises. Internally, they were tested and best ones participated on the day. The students were supposed to memorize the verse with its meaning and be able to relay the advice that is instructed in the verse. This item was done for the first time and a total of 100 verses were introduced.
All the participants were gifted costumes for the competition, which were long dresses and shellas for the girls and white kanzus for the boys.
At the end, all the participants were presented with gifts of a Holy Qurán, a prayer mat and cash gift. Bilal comprehensive is thankful for the generous donor who makes it all possible.
As every year, the final moments raised people’s suspense for the award of the Hajj ticket. The ticket of Hajj for this year was given to the Academics Head, Teacher Hussein Kilapo. The School wishes to thank Alhaj Mohamedjaffer Pyarali and the anonymous donor to make this trip possible for those who, without this opportunity, will not be able to make the trip. May Allah (swt) bless them all, Ameen.
The event was an encouraging and motivating experience for talented young boys and girls in the field of Qur’an and Hifdh. Also, the program was a good opportunity towards promoting interfaith relationship amongst various Muslim Institutions.
Overall, the program was successful and well attended. Some of the guests included AFED Chairman Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, AFED Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, AFTAB Chairman Alhaj Seyed Hassan Naqvi and Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania Chairman Alhaj Riyaz Nasser, Managing Committee Members and BMMT staff.
The evening ended with Salatul Maghribain and a warm ‘togetherness in sharing’ of iftar.
